"The symphony of rocks..."
A magical land...Equally named in Turkish as “the chimneys of fairies”... A valley of heaven and hell...This calm, proud and wise land has welcomed so many religions, so many civilisations and so many people throughout history. This tradition still goes on and now Cappadocia welcomes visitors from all over the world. A resting point on the Silk Road and a hide away for the first Christians... There is so much to say about Cappadocia. You may not believe about the theory of cosmic centres on earth but once you are in Capadoccia you will believe that you are on one of them...

| |
Saruhan Caravanserai is situated 5 km east of Avanos on the Kayseri-Aksaray road, Sarı Han is on the banks of the Damsa brook. It faces west, and consists of an indoor area with 5 naves and a courtyard. Sarı Han is considered to have been built in 1238. It had a Turkish bath and a mesjid over the gatehouse and its external area (excluding the towers and portal) is 2,000 m². Repairs are now taking place, but because its future function has not yet been determined there is no way of knowing on what basis the repairs are being done.
