    Aynalıkavak Pavilion that dates back to the 17th century is on the shore of the Golden Horn. It is the sole remaining building from a large Ottoman palace known as Aynalıkavak Palace. This area was for centuries a place where the Ottoman sultans and before them the Byzantines came for country excursions.

    Beylerbeyi Palace


    Beylerbeyi Palace is on the Asian side of the Istanbul Bogazi. Built by Sultan Abdulaziz in 19th century the palace has a beautiful garden with magnolia trees. The palace is built by marble; and it was used as summer residence of the sultans and a guest house for foreign dignitaries.

    Dolmabahce Palace

    Dolmabahce Palace is built in the mid l9th century by Sultan Abdulmecit. Ataturk, the national leader of Turkey died here on the 10th of November, 1938. The palace has an impressive six hundred meter frontage on the Istanbul Bogazi. The vast reception salon with its 56 columns and its huge crystal chandelier (750 bulbs) is the most important and impressive part of the palace. The Bird Pavilion, where birds from all over the world were kept, is unique to Dolmabahce Palace.

    Goksu Pavilion (Kucuksu)



    Goksu Pavilion, known also as Kucuksu Kasri takes its name from the famous streams nearby. It was built by Abdulmecit in the middle of the 19th century; and used as a summer residence.

    Ihlamur Pavilion



    Ihlamur Pavilion built in the 19th century takes its name from the linden trees that grow in abundance in the garden. The Maiyet Pavilion housed the sultan's entourage; and the Merasim Pavilion was the scene of official ceremonies.

    Topkapi Palace

    Topkapi Palace was built during 1453-1478 by Sultan Mehmed II, the Conqueror of Istanbul in the 15th Century, as the seat of the Ottoman Empire. Topkapi served as a palace to twenty-five Ottoman Sultans and could accommodate 5.000 people. Topkapi Palace is the most beautiful example of Ottoman civil architecture. Spread over 699,00 sqm. the Topkapi is the biggest museum in Turkey and has the richest collection. The first courtyard is a magnificent wooded garden. The palace kitchen is on the right of the second court, shaded by cypress and plane trees.

    Until 1854, after which the Ottoman Sultans preferred the Dolmabahce Palace as their residence, the Topkapi was the place where the most important decisions of the Ottoman Empire were taken.

    Its Harem, with some three hundred different chambers and halls, only some of which are open to the public, today draws the greatest number of visitors.

    Today, a Museum, the Palace Kitchens’ sections display 12.000 pieces of Royal Porcelain, including the unique pieces in the rare Chinese Porcelain Collection, that were specially created for the Sultans to change their colour, if poisonous food was served in them. You can see an exhíbition of robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury and an exhibition of miniatures. The world famous Imperial Treasury Section displays one of the richest and most stunning collections of the World, including the Royal Dagger with the unique ‘’Spoonmaker’s Diamond of 86 carats’’.

    Yildiz Palace

    Yildiz Palace and Yildiz Park covers an area of 500.000 m2 on the hillside overlooking the Bosphorus between Beşiktaş, Ortaköy and Balmumcu. It's set in a very large park of flowers with plants and trees brought from every part of t he world.
    Yildiz Palace includes a complex of pavilions and a mosque which were built over a long period and finally completed at the end of the 19th century. Selim III (1789-1807) had a country pavilion here for his mother Mihrişah Valide Sultan. It is after this köşk that the park came to be named.
    The Sale is the largest and most exquisite building among others. It reflects the luxurious life of over a century ago.
