"Maras, the land of ice cream..."

Located in the East Mediterranean, Kahramanmaras is a city famous for its ice cream. Kahramanmaras has a large potential for tourism with its caves, Eshab-ı Keyf Kulliye and plateaus. The city of Kahramanmaras is wholly situated in the Ceyhan Basin. The city has a wide network of streams. One of Türkiye's most important rivers, the Ceyhan, is born from the soil of this province. Kahramanmaras and its neighbouring area has a special place in the concept of tourism and culture. Although Kahramanmaras is located within the Mediterranean climate zone, it is also influenced by the bordering climates of Central Anatolia and East Anatolia. The city is cooler than our Southern Counties. It has innumerable plateaus. The most popular of these are the Başkonuş Plateau, the Yavşan Plateau and the Tekir Plateau which have floral specimans rarely found anywhere else in the world. The province is also abundant with rivers and water sources.
